I may download a whole book and then use my electronic scissors
to cut out the one chapter I'd like for them to read and post it
on line, which seems about the same as the old-fashioned method
of putting a book on reserve in the library and assigning a
chapter. Not that students read what's assigned, but that's
another story for another day.

This routine beats what used to happen when I was in grad school:
finding copies of expensive books in the UC Lowie Library with
whole chapters razored out.
