I am glad to discover that I am not the only person who ever tried to  
teach the Phaedo while remaining bewildered by it. Once upon a time in  
Idaho I had a Mormon friend try to prove to me that Phaedo proved that  
Plato was a proto-Mormon, but I didn't understand that either.
