1) nyan thos kyi theg pa- Shravakayana"Hearer's vehicle"; 
2) rang sangs rgyas kyi theg pa- Prayekabuddhayana"Self-made buddha vehicle
3) theg pa chen po- Mahayana "Great vehicle"


from this perspective tantra, the vajrayana or secret mantra vehicle, is considered a subsection of the Mahayana, i.e., as particular methods of practice of Mahayana. 

the alternative formulation:
1) theg pa dman pa-Hinayana "Low Vehicle"
(comprises 1 and 2 from above.)


2) theg pa chen po- Mahayana "Great Vehicle"
3) rdo rje thegpa- Vajrayana "Vajra Vehicle".
