First of all, there was nothing condescending about his support for
Dhammadinna. On the contrary. Apparently your niscayas are based on 21st
century knee-jerk PC-dictated reactions instead of 4th c careful sifting of
evidence.

There are actually quite a few -- it is a recurrent theme weaved throughout,
though (obviously) frequently overlooked.
Maybe someone should write a paper on that ... but, oh, what's the use?
Setting the record straight is apparently not part of being a progressive
21st c Western Buddhist.
