It means that one day he decided (much like Prince) he did not want to be called his former name and picked Osho.

Apparently (according to Wikipedia) Osho had an exact date for when he became enlightened: March 21, 1953.
The Wikipedia article makes for interesting reading. And who said snake oil doesn't sell well??
