sent round this link to a restored Buddhist temple in St Petersburg. Great
photos. I see from the link " About the Temple" that the artist Nicholas
Roerich was at the inauguration of it--that guy sure got around.

TheSoviets destroyed the temple and arrested the lamas, but in 1990 it was
returned to the Buddhists of Petersburg.  HYPERLINK
