Brahmanical Society" from "Chapters in Indian Civilization: Volume One" 
(Joseph Elder, ed., 1970, no publisher info listed other than "Printed 
in the United States of America), but an isbn of 0-8403-0312-2; it is 
part of a series and most likely was printed at UW-Madison), p. 41. He 
gives the source as Rahula Sankrityayana (ed.), 
_Pramanavartika-svavrtti-tika_ Allahabad: Kitab Mahal, pp. 617-618.

The full quote is:

"The unquestioned authority of the Vedas;
the belief in a world-creator;
the quest for purification through ritual bathing;
the arrogant division into castes;
the practice of mortification to atone for sin—
these five are the marks of the crass stupidity of witless men."
