However, the French are not above/beyond recasting proper names:  Rogier 
van der Weyden gets transmogrified into Rog(i)er de la Pasture . . . and 
what is one to make of "Michelange"?  I guess that purity is in the eye 
of the beholder (or transmogrifier).
