Master Hang Truong CE from the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas in California is quite versed in the Avatamsaka et al; in fact, he's delivering dharma talks about this subject and wrote many books about it. He's also fluent in English, used to be a Med student in US before going into monkhood. His father, deceased, was a very renowned physician in Viet Nam.
He might be interested if asked.

Sincerely,
Minh Quang

Subject: [Buddha-l] Hua-yen entry for Encyclopedia of Philosophy

The editor-in-chief of the second revised edition of the Encyclopedia of
Philosophy has informed me that all the people who have been invited to
write the entry on the Hua Yen school of Buddhism have declined, and all
the people who have been recommended by those who initially declined
have also declined. If an author for this entry cannot be found within
the next few days, the encyclopedia will have to go to press without an
entry on the Hua-yen school. The absolute deadline for the entry would
be July 1; no entries can be accepted after that date.

If anyone reading this list has any suggestions for a possible author,
please contact me as soon as possible.
