No wonder I'm so damn ignorant. I never went to Kindergarten.

Speaking of education, I'm curious whether anyone knows of any Buddhists
who have gotten on the home-schooling bandwagon.

I personally have known only one couple who schooled his their children
at home. The father is a philosophy professor and his wife is an artist
who grew up in a family involved in opera production. Their home is
completely free of television and computers but rich in books and
recordings of classical music and opera. By the time the children were
five they were fluent in English, French and German and by grade two
they were reading Greek and Latin. By the age of twelve they had read
many of the Western literary and philosophical classics in the original
languages and knew most of the classical music and periods of art and
architecture. To my disappointment, the parents opted not to have their
learn Sanskrit or Pali as children, but I was still impressed at how
much dedicated parents could teach children in just a few hours a day.
