What I'm getting at is not whether religion should or shouldn't be nationalistic 
or ethnic or whatever. Ultimately something as important as the way you live your 
life needs to be considered seriously and balanced - if you would like to consider 
yourself a discerning human being - between blind conformity to group or family 
values and the other blind extreme of selfishness.

On the face of it most religious people's philosophy seems to be no more than a 
matter of following their political/religious leaders, and inevitably (because 
politics is all about power and privilege not love) joining up and fighting wars 
for trivial reasons. It's about on the same level as going along to your local 
football stadium and rioting when your team loses....unless its Southend United - 
they never lose - its pre-ordained by god.
