[Buddha-l] Reading about Dharmaswamin

So far, reading the pdf kindly posted to me by Rahula, I note that even in
those days some panditas were against magical practices, imprecations and
the like. One was a guru of Dharmaswamin, Ravindra:

"When he visited the Guru Ravindra, he realized the futility of
imprecations. The Dharmasvamin remarked, "Great was the grace of the Guru,
the imprecations became unnecessary." (p.56) 

Apparently Dharmaswamin had been practicing tantric "magic" or was imbued by
or believed it.
Reminds me of the warning in the Pali texts not to go for siddhis (magical
mystery tours, as I enjoy calling them).
