Re:Suicide and Body Sacrifice

The traditional Indian practice of leaving your family in your old age because they could not 
support you and going into to forest to meditate was a form of suicide. Indians were frightened 
of the forest and meditating in it meant you almost consigned yourself as food for tigers. 

The Buddha said at the end of his life that his body was a useless worn out husk and as such not 
worth preserving or being attached to. So I agree with the idea that it all depends on the 
intention.
