AK:
A large segment of the Subcontinent's population was historically deprived
of the possibility to articulate its experiences and existential fears.
And is being deprived even now. By archaeology. Philology. High falluting
Indology. Even Buddhology.

JK:
I don't see how anything that has transpired between you Artur and Dan is
relevant to anything that I said.
That being said: How about the ways in which the vast majority of the
populations of south Asia are being deprived in ways even more dangerous?
How about life and limb?
Who are the deprivers? Rather than the list of academic types you supplied,
it is the elites who run the country locally, regionally, and nationally,
and who control its resources.

Those among the exploited who have managed to organize and marginally,
sometimes significantly, fight back are the Ambedkarites--the Dalits
(untouchables) who converted to Buddhism a la Ambedkar, who no longer
consider themselves to be Hindus nor morally obligated to accept their
lowdown 'karmic punishment as untouchables', the lowest of the low. There's
a huge literature on this. I suggest that you read some of it.

Best,
Joanna
