[Buddha-l] more tibetan self-immolations

{yet another nameless scholar}: "There has been a rash of Tibetan
self-immolators recently, five in one weekend, but did you know that N.
Africa and the middle east are experiencing their own outbreak of
self-immolations? Thought not. ..."

Properly "Thought not." should be corrected (!) to "I imagine, or
fantasize, not." A bit of buddhist practice usually reveals the
correction as lucid and more meaningful to all. 

Other than that (OTT), reports and discussions of non-buddhist
self-immolations have continued to make the rounds, so to speak.
Typically, not much is said in response within common Occidental <g>
circles. Most often, as has been the case here, few have compassion and
many fantasize delusional ulterior motives.
