If only any of us would. No one has a monopoly on this misplacement of energy. And in no group of people is this misplacement the defining characteristic.
Be wary of the formal fallacy of hasty generalization. From the undeniable premise "Some members of group X are intolerant fanatics" one cannot draw the conclusion "All members of group X are intolerant fanatics. Intolerant fanaticism is ugly and potentially dangerous. No one denies that. It would be better if it were dealt with. No one denies that. The place to begin dealing with it is in one's own mentality. The only intolerant fanaticism that anyone can deal with is one's own. Deny that at your peril.
