'Critics viewed the government's decision as a capitulation to China, one of
South Africa's most important economic partners.'
This cowardly attitude toward a country that desperately wishes to gain
major control over African mineral and metal resources is incredible, but
apparently real.
The South African government of today has little international respect so
far as its ability to function adequately, although-- like a few other
governments trading with China that we can think of-- this debilitating,
kowtowing attitude is par for the course.

The visas to South Africa were never issued, so HHDL is cancelling his
planned visit.
