The hat is a perfect attire choice because it lightens up the
lecture platform (and the expected auto-piety) in ways that
gigantic turbans or weird crowns do not -------I suspect that
Versacci would approve (if he were still here).

He has a habit of wearing the local hat when giving a talk. When
in Massechussetts he wore a Patriots hat (the very popular NFL
Football team):

since that was where he was delivering the talk. He seems to like
red hats -- do the yellow hats know?
