Since lack of a quality social mileu surfaced in one of the
original threads here, this article by a social-minded
psychotherapist strikes me as a contribution to the discussions
under way, Quaker, Buddhist or Christian. 
 
If I'd written it, I would have more strongly linked the
phenomenon he writes about to the dominant institution of
corporate capitalism, but the author makes some points worth
pondering. Personally, I find that every social institution, qua
institution, has been contaminated. 
We need only to reflect on the many admirers inspired by such as
Dick Cheney to comprehend what he's talking about.
