[Buddha-l] Exceptional prcatices and the like

One can only imagine the angels (devas) of buddha-l emulating this
remarkable Thai practice. Continuing the fantasy, considering such could
be complicated in the USA as surely divorce and competency proceedings
would add to the spiritual challenge <g>. 

On a more serious note, the Ajahn understood citizenship (and
governance) more deeply than many, including politicians.

Buddhist monk aided Thai central bank

Bangkok, Thailand -- When Bua Yannasampanno (Ajahn Maha Boowa), a hermit
Buddhist monk, died in Thailand at the age of 98 on Sunday, his
followers were convinced he had reached true spiritual enlightenment and
wouldn’t be reborn.

But he also left the world with at least one eye on worldly affairs: His
will assigned all the gold in his custody to Thailand’s central bank.
