Breaking News! - On Eido Shimano

The Zen Studies Society (ZSS) issued an official statement on Feb 5,
2011 stating that Eido Shimano Roshi and his wife Aiho-san Yasuko
Shimano have both retired as Abbot of The Zen Studies Society and
Director of New York Zendo Shobo-ji respectively. The statement says
that both have "retired openly and without reservation from all
administrative authority". It also said that Eido Roshi will not be
teaching under the auspices of The Zen Studies Society. Shinge Roko
Sherry Chayat Roshi, who received dharma transmission in 1998, was
installed as the new Abbot on January 1, 2011. More soon.
