Since Richard's emails used to reach us with diacriticals intact, the first 
question might be has he changed anything -- settings, programs, computer --  
recently? If so, can he un-change or modify the new to comply with utf-8 
unicode standards? The vy?gpti and coherence of his messages might depend on 
that someday.

P.S. Just to be sure, Donna, can you report back how vyapti looks on your 
machine? Is the space between the y and p filled with an a topped by a 
horizontal line, or something else? If you see vyapti as vyapti, then you 
are seeing things as they are, yathabhuta, and close to enlightenment (or, 
alternatively, your email program is functioning properly).
