The University of Tennessee, Department of Religious Studies, invites applications for a one-year full-time lecturer in the Religions of East Asia to begin August 2010.   The position requires teaching a 4-4 course load.  PhD and teaching experience is preferred, but ABDs in the final stages of completing their dissertations will be considered.  Area of expertise is open to any historical period and geographic location within East Asia, but preference will be given to candidates who are able to teach classes in their area of specialization (e.g. Chinese philosophy and religion, Buddhism in East Asia, or Japanese new religious movements), as well as introductory classes on the world’s religions.
