It is possible to set the archives to generate a zipped (using Unix gzip) file daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly. It is now set to monthly archiving. Our archives go back to March 2005. I believe that those monthly archives would remain unchanged even if we set the archiving to yearly or quarterly. The change would affect only future archives, I think. But I'm not sure. I'm never sure about anything, I think. But I'm not sure. 

I have no preferences in this matter. Does anyone else have anything to say about the amount of time between generating new archives?
