Who ever sent it to you (or rather, whoever wrote it), then, is the one
mistaking apples and oranges, etc. Back to the Gombrich, I highly recommend
his new book. While some of his theories are probably wrong (and he'd fully
admit this), he's a refreshingly honest and thoughtful scholar.
