In Bali, when the blind turtle sticks its neck through the hole
in the yoke, sacrifice it.

=================
In ancient times humans were scarificed in various rituals in
India (not sure about Bali). The pumpkins larded onto the skids
when launching a new boat are said to
be substitutes in the ancient sacrifice of humans on the event.
There are other instances where substitutes for humans were
finally employed in rituals requiring like victims.
So the tutrtles could be substituted by clay turtles figures, if
certain people would agree to it.
