Using this definition, one can add to the illustrious company of Buddha and Julius Caesar the many (tens of thousands?; hundreds of thousands?; maybe, don't have the actual numbers) lesser humans delivered by Caeseran (heh, Caesar again) section every year. Technically then, C-sections seem to be the most expeditious and effective way of escaping the cycle of rebirth/reincarnation. Beats the hell out of meditating (or whatever other practice is advocated as conducive) an entire, or several, lifetimes.
