Moving on......checking other links on the site I just posted,
about the monkey father myth,  suggests that this is a Chinese
website. The photo of "Tibetan women" dancing ("Photo show") is a
huge embarrassing bummer.

The myth is that the Tibetan people are the descendants of the
union of a demoness and a monkey. (Later versions have it that
the monkey was an emanation of Avalokiteshvara.)
