The warning pops up in windoze too. Thanks, Jeff, for that nifty how-to. 
I've toggled it off, and so far seem to suffer no ill effects. I left the 
malware toggled on (true), since that should be the part that is on the 
lookout for dangerous sites.

If problems occur with the it toggled off, I'll report back.

In the meantime, there is a video on youtube on how to speed up your machine
