What got to me while watching the Nova program on black holes,
aside from finally understanding gravity (or at least their
graphix explanation of it), was the implication that black holes
are not impermanent--they just get bigger and bigger. They too
must undergo changes but nobody seems to know how.

But doesn't a black hole, to be properly so, have to suck in all
directions at once? Then there can be no down, since everywhere
is up, and event horizon is thus relative to the position of the
beholder. (Who will probably not have much of a life for long.)
Thus, all things are impermanent.
