[Buddha-l] Maitreya Project

Was it someone on Buddha-L who had provided this link to news about the Maitreya project?  (I know I read it somewhere, from some list, I don't remember which one.)  I just looked the site up again on the yahoo search engine; it has some articles **against** the project.
