[Buddha-l] Symbiomism

Wasn't it Friedrich Max Mueller who first declared a "disease of
language", by which he meant the naming tendency, thus by naming
something ( a process of, for example, personifying entitities in
nature, which he thought the Vedic deities were), converting it
to thing-ness and ending up worshipping "it".
This idea began with personifications of nature in myth, and was
later refined in one of the volumes of his _Chips from a German
Workshop_, where we could see him verging on the notion of
semiotics.
Seems the biomism people have lifted his idea in their search for
ways to have their religion cake but not eat it too.
