We don't tend to hear much about Burma. Having carried out
research both inside and outside Burma (e.g., on its frontiers),
my colleague who wrote these articles has more to say than the
superficialities found in news media. Scholarship on Burma these
days is practically obsolete. 
Some of us on this list might be interested even if this article,
about a Buddhist country, isn't about Buddhism per se.
