That's the right person, but the topic of her PhD thesis somehow got
changed in my memory since 1980. I know Joan was working on the Pali
canon for a very long time; perhaps that's how I got confused. Perhaps
it was Joan's Doktorvatter, Narain K. Wagle, who wrote on the topic you
were thinking of. Let me check that out and get back to you.
