[Buddha-l] Can Buddhism "evolve"?

I prefer to think of the changes as adaptations to different cultures, different times, and different circumstances.  "Evolve" is too loaded of a term.  "Adaptation" is neutral as a term.  One can qualify it with descriptives, but they are not implicit as with "evolve".
