I've just read Steve Paulson's conversation with Alan Wallace:

http://www.salon.com/books/int/2006/11/27/wallace/

and I am very happy I did. Although I admire Batchelor's agnostic courage,
knowing Wallace's
thoughts give a healthy balance, esp to those who are serious about the
basic teachings of
Buddhism, esp consciousness, karma and rebirth.

Basically I think, Batchelor is saying, let's work with what we really know.
Wallace is saying, why not try out some educated probabilities.

I think more Wallace's approach is more adventurous (in the good sense), esp
where
we are not dealing with science here, but with personal and spiritual
development.

Still, there is a lot we can learn from both of them.
