I just gave a dharmma talk yesterday on "The Practice of Joy and  Happiness". 
For canonical reference I used the appropriate practice steps in the  Anap. 
Sutta and the last 2 of the 4 kinds of right effort in the 8-Fold Path. We  
then had a guided metta meditation.
