These were not "forms of socialism" at all. The "capitalists" (enemies 
of "socialism") prospered under Hitler, Mussolini and Franco. Trade 
unions, on the other hands, didn't do nearly as well.

Like all "isms", socialism has served as a convenient banner for lot's 
of different unsavory types to march under. But if we are going to use 
the word, let's at least try to use it in a coherent way.

Fascism and National Socialism were both "forms of socialism" in 
precisely the same sense that Aum Shinrikyo is a "form of Buddhism".
