A meme is a chameleon-like thread-worm. It finds its way into threads by
hitching a lift on a carrier who may not even be aware of it. It rapidly
infects small groups of people whose minds become hyper-active and prone
to deviation for a few hours, maybe even days. The meme is sustained by
encountering its replications in other hosts. Eventually, it subsides as
the host's energy is drained. Normally, the hosts return to their normal
behaviour as if nothing ever happened.

The chameleon-like nature of the meme is due to a structure comprised of
letters in various orders. These letters assemble in any size group. So
far, twenty six of these letters have been identified. However, just the
mere form of these letters does not constitute a meme. It seems that an
external energising factor is necessary. The mere assembly of letters in
front of some individuals produces no response whatsoever. Whether this
is due to immunity or a lack of provision of intellectual support is not
exactly clear. In other individuals, it has been observed that the meme
mutates into completely different shapes causing further bouts of mental
activity. Recovery is not guaranteed. Sometimes, the host can appear to
be completely subdued but suffers multiple relapses a short while after.
