In fairness, not all Usenet groups are like that. Quite a few,
yes, but some are quite sane and sensible.
As a rule, the religion and belief groups (of all sorts) tend to
have more spam, garbage, and bizarre arguments. Others (e.g.,
rec.knives) are populated with decent folks out to have good
conversation.
It all depends....
