Ignorance is the root because "I don't know" reality.
Or, it can be said to be latent tendencies, we habitually do things without
thinking. Then thoughtlessness is the root of ignorance. Or, we assume that
since we have been doing it for so long, that it is right and proper, hence
not learning new things.
