Yes I agree. In fact this goes directly to my point. If one's worldview 
is limited by what one knows from the "public discourse" in the media 
and public figures in the US, then exactly this conflation of 
anti-semitism with criticism of Israel is likely to occur. In fact there 
is another conflation that occurs as well - anyone whose views are more 
to the left than, say, Daniel Schorr, is likely to be considered 
mentally imbalanced in the United States. And if you are to the left of 
Bill Moyers you are considered certifiable. For instance, I have friends 
who are quite well educated but who consider Noam Chomsky to be crazy, 
simply because of his political views. I even have one friend who is a 
well educated Buddhist with very liberal views and a Ph.D. in psychology 
who tells me that he thinks Noam Chomsky is a paranoid schizophrenic.
