[Buddha-l] Buddhism and Blasphemy

Not only the Bamiyan statues, but how about the Hindu deity sculptures over 
the ages that were defaced or destroyed, plus temples as well, by the 
Muslims? Since all that happened under the aegis of invaders on the march 
(Mahmud of Ghazni comes to mind here), the victims as it were had no choice 
but to submit. The memory of all these insults rankled though: in 1991 or 
thereabouts (not so good on dates) the Hindu nationalists got their own 
back, as it were, by razing an old masjid at Ayutthaya, leading further to 
pogroms on Muslims in Gujarat, and other communal mayhem.
