I'm wondering what you think is a "traditional Buddhist practitioner."
There are so many kinds of these world-wide, which one do you call "traditional?" What kind of Buddhist are you?

Sounds like he finally got the message after a few decades.......happy to hear it....but since he's not really a traditional Buddhist (although he chants daily he is "Mahayana" as part of his "Heart Sutra" practice) it's not for me to criticize....except everyone seems to believe he is a traditional Buddhist practitioner.
Indeed, on his last visit to the US, when he even appeared in Idaho of all places, he gave plenty of lectures/talks/teachings.

Even though you criticize the Dalai Lama's current teaching style, it is obvious that it is not from personal knowledge. He still gives traditional lectures on Buddhism. The last morning or afternoon there might be an empowerment, then again maybe not. You have things exactly backwards.

They might if they are not Buddhists........the Buddha rejected reincarnation in favor of "rebirth" which is much different. Some months after I pointed this out to Tenzin Gyatso when he was my guest during his first US visit he publicly said "I may not reincarnate." (Whether my explaining the difference between the traditional Tibetan religious belief and Buddhist belief had any influence on his statement I do not know. He has since then been surrounded by money people and prefers giving "empowerment" ceremonies which raise a lot more money than his earlier practice of explaining his form of "Buddhism" in direct lecture form.
Hi,
Does Communist China believe in reincarnation?
