This may be an interesting "real politik" move by the Dalai Lama, following last week's meeting with Bush, in which Bush promised to bring the DL's ideas for Tibetan autonomy to the Chinese. At least this is what the DL said Bush promised, during an interview with PBS' Charlie Rose. But it seems that the DL may be contradicting himself a bit, given that he said quite unequivocally in the interview with Rose that in today's world war was not the solution to any problem.
