It is very good indeed to see Stephen Hodge back in action. As he and (I
think) Robert Morrison have mentioned, Stephen wrote a number of
extremely useful and informative messages last year on a variety of
topics, including the Mahā‐pārinirvāṇa‐sūtra.

I believe, but don't know for sure, that anyone can still get access to
those archives by going to
http://www.louisville.edu/it/listserv/archives/buddha-l.html . I would
appreciate it if someone would actually try going to those archives to
see if you can gain access. I can, but I am still the administrator of
the old buddha-l and so may be able to get to things that others cannot.
At present there are no subscribers to the old buddha-l, and it is now
set so that no one can subscribe. What I want to know is whether the old
buddha-l, which is now closed in almost every possible way, is still
open to the general public for the purpose of exploring the archives.

If it is, you'll find the top link on the archives page has a link to a
device that will help you explore the archives for a particular topic or
a particular author. You can also search for key words in the body of a
message. It's pretty self-explanatory and very handy.

If any of you give it a try, please let me know privately whether it
worked for you.
