Does anyone know if the Ekottara Aagama has an equivalent
somewhere in the Paali Canon, and whether there is an
English translation for it (either from the Aagama, or from
the Nikaaya source if it exists) ?
There's no literal equivalent, but in general (not considering style, order
and extent of detailedness) the EkottarAgama corresponds with the Anguttara
Nikaya. Check out G.C. Pande's 'Studies in the Origins of Buddhism', pp.
230-247, 1993 (reprint), Motilal Banarsidass, for a comparison. If you like
them scanned, send me a private e-mail.
Online you'll find www.accesstoinsight.org
<http://www.accesstoinsight.org>, which has a selection of
translations.
Cheers,
Stefan
