Now it's called Borderline Personality Disorder. But I suspect that DSM5
will banish Borderline Personality to the trash heap if folks like
Goerge Vaillant have anything to say about it. Vaillant regards
Borderline as an imprecise diagnosis that amounts to nothing more than a
value judgement in disguise. Whenever psychological caregivers come
across a patient with whom they just cannot get along, they diagnose the
patient as Borderline.
