You're a more fair-minded person that I. When I was living in Canada I
routinely took offense at everything spoken or written by any
USAmerican. I just found the entire enterprise offensive to the core. I
still do, but now I'm part of the mess. Not wanting to be like the
Cretan who said that all Cretans are liars, I guess I have to take a
less lazy route than I have taken in the past. This will mean admitting
that some USAmericans, provided they do nt currently live in or work for
anyone who lives in the White House, sometimes say marginally useful
things and now in then, even if only inadvertantly, says something close
to the truth.

Alas, in this unfortunate shortcoming, Dan is not so very unusual.
