POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Tenure-track position in Asian (Eastern)
Philosophy and Religion in Department of Philosophy, effective Fall
2006.
Rank: Assistant or Associate Professor. Requirements: Ph.D. in
Philosophy (or equivalent) by Fall '06, and reading knowledge of at
least one ancient ormodern Asian language. Area of Specialization: Asian
Philosophy and Religion (sub-specializations within Asian Philosophy and
Religion are open). AOCs (as well as additional AOSs) are open. Salary:
competitive, commensurate with qualifications. Generous health and
retirement benefits (as well as domestic partner benefits). Scholarly
Support: The University provides opportunities for support of both
research and teaching projects.
The successful candidate will play an integral role in two baccalaureate
programs (philosophy, and philosophy and religion) and the M.A. program
in philosophy. The ability to contribute broadly to these programs will
be an important consideration. Candidates should be able to teach
the department's course in critical thinking.
